John
Vann | Principal Consultant and Director
|
|
John Vann is a geologist with
a background in mining and exploration since 1985 and an extensive
track record as a geostatistician since 1990. Widely recognised
as a leading geostatistician in the mining industry, John has
presented approximately 100 short courses in geostatistics in
8 countries with well over 1000 participants since 1994. John
specialises in audit, due diligence, skill-transfer and strategic
consulting. He was a member of the Joint Ore Reserve Committee (JORC) from 1996-2007
Scott Jackson also has a background
in mining geology and exploration geology, since 1987. He has
rapidly developed a reputation as a geostatistician since returning
from Fontainebleau in 1998. Scott's extensive experience in
the mining industry has been put to excellent use in due diligence,
resource estimation, grade control, risk analysis and strategic
consulting. Scott has run a number of introductory and advanced
courses in geostatistics since 2001.
Scott
Dunham has an a strong reputation as senior
technical manager, most recently as Technical Services Manager
for Newcrest's Cadia Valley Operations and WMC's Mt Keith Operation.
He started his career as a mining geologist at Mt Isa in 1987.
Scott's experience includes operational and managerial roles
in silver/lead/zinc, copper, tin, gold and nickel in a wide
variety of geological environments and mining methods. With
a second degree in Information Technology, Scott brings a highly
systematic approach to mine planning, mining geology, strategic
management and improving business performance.
Mike Stewart is a geologist with
a background in mining and exploration since 1987. Mike's career
has included working in gold and nickel mines up to Geology
Manager level with strong involvement in resource estimation
and management issues. In addition he did a stint with the British
Geological Survey and completed the CFSG program in geostatistics
at Fontainebleau in 2002-3. Mike brings extensive experience
in underground mining and specific, recent nickel expertise
to QG.
Chris De-Vitry is a geologist with experience in mine geology and resource evaluation since 1993. His skills have been developed through extensive mentoring by world class geologists, geostatisticians and educators. He has experience in porphyry copper, nickel laterite, stratiform copper-lead-zinc, numerous styles of gold mineralisation, massive and disseminated nickel, talc and iron-ore. Chris has strong skills in data-validation, geological modelling and in integrating geology and geostatistics into the mining process. He also has advanced skills in numerous mining software packages especially Isatis.
Mike
Job began his geological career in the petroleum
industry in 1985. In 1987, he started work in the Kalgoorlie
Goldfields and has since gained over 15 years experience in
Archaean gold and nickel exploration and mining in WA. Mike
also spent two years working on porphyry gold-copper deposits
in central NSW. He was the Geology Manager at BHP Billiton's
Leinster Nickel Operation before joining QG in June 2006. Mike
is passionate about geological resource estimates that are practical,
robust and auditable.
Stephen Coward's career in the mining industry has included working in mining operations, project management and corporate support in operational, managerial and technical roles. He has developed a range of skills associated with both metallurgy and management of mineral resources and reserves. Particular emphasis has been on sampling, estimation, classification and mining project evaluation. His quantitative and analytical skills bring a dynamic flavour to the QG environment that is focused on mineral resource/reserve evaluation and optimisation. In addition to qualifications in metallurgy, Steve has a B.Comm. from the University of South Africa and an MBA from the University of Witwatersrand. He is currently completing a PhD on geometallurgy at the University of Adelaide.
Support Staff
Lisa Palmer joined the QG
team in July 2004 as Office Manager, to look after administration
tasks and generally keep everything working seamlessly. Lisa
has a background working in administrative positions for various
organisations, including customer relations roles. Lisa is based
in our Fremantle offices in WA.
Natalie Abbott joined the QG team in 2007 to help look after administration tasks and play tag-team with Lisa. Natalie also has a background working in administration and is based in our Fremantle offices in WA.
